Prasat Bayon

Prasat Bayon is located at the center of Angkor Thom, it was built in the late 12th and early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII. Travel from Angkor Wat on the south gate, brings tourist to Bayon Temple.

Each statue tower has 4 faces that points to each direction (North, South, East, West). There were originally 49 towers , which represented 49 states. The architecture of Prasat Bayon includes the outer and inner galleries, north and south libraries, terraces and gopuras. The bas-relief at the outer and inner galleries, less stylish than the Angkor Wat sculptures; they described the stories of that era, war against another country called Champa, daily living style, religion worship and so on.
